Leaking taps and toilets

A dripping tap or a running cistern wastes water every hour it's left, and in older bayside bathrooms the washer or seal behind it has usually corroded from age and the salt air. It's a small job, but one that's easy to put off until the water bill shows it.

Questions and answers

Do you come out after hours?

For burst pipes, no hot water and blocked toilets, yes, when one of us is available. After-hours rates are higher and we'll tell you the rate on the phone first.

My hot water has stopped. Repair or replace?

It depends on the age of the unit and what's failed. We'll check it and give you both prices where repair makes sense, so you can decide.

Do you work on older Queenslanders?

All the time. Old galvanised pipe, tight underfloor access and add-on bathrooms are a normal week around here.

Why does my drain keep blocking?

Usually tree roots, a sag in the pipe or a broken joint. A camera inspection shows us which, so the fix lasts longer than a clear-out.

Can you connect a gas cooktop or barbecue?

Yes. Mitch does our gas work, including cooktops, gas hot water and outdoor barbecue points, and tests everything before we leave.

Which suburbs do you cover?

Wynnum, Manly, Manly West, Lota, Wynnum West, Hemmant, Tingalpa, Murarrie, Belmont and Gumdale. Ring if you're nearby and we'll let you know.

Do you charge a call-out fee?

Yes. It covers getting to you and the first half hour, and we'll tell you how much it is when you book.

How the job is priced

The call-out fee covers the first half hour and is confirmed before booking. Most tap and toilet leaks are straightforward, but the price depends on what's worn and whether fittings need replacing, which we'll confirm once we've had a look.

Ring anyway if it's after hours and we'll tell you honestly whether it can wait till morning
